Senior Systems Engineer
(Singapore)
Responsibilities:
* Lead the implementation of IT Infrastructure Projects for Asia Pacific
* Provide support and resolve issues on the Global Enterprise Infrastructure applications
* Provide support relevant to all data centre servers, as well as storage, applications and tools used to manage our systems and databases
* Develop and ensure adherence to IS standards specified at the global and regional levels
* Manage the Regional Data Centre’s cost centre capital and expense budget
* Provide documentation and support procedures as well as cross-training for all members of the support team
* Administer security procedures in conjunction with our security personnel to ensure the integrity of the company’s systems and data
* Provide second-level support on systems and databases at our IT Helpdesk
* Review, test and apply patches, changes or other modification to databases and supporting scripts
* Develop, document and maintain procedures for data backups, restoration and disaster recovery
* Liaise and manage external service provider on data centre operations, e.g. hardware and software purchases, as well as maintenance and other operations services
Requirements:
* Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, or an equivalent, with certification in MCSE and CCNA
* Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in IBM-AIX or HP–UX, Linux and Unix Shell scripting, as well as minimum 8 to 10 years’ experience in supporting infrastructure activities, project implementation, preferably within an MNC
* Experience in Progress, SQL and Oracle databases and project management is advantageous
* Working knowledge of Multi-Domain Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange, VMWare ESX Infrastructure, Storage Area Network technology, as well as network technology in MPLS, Firewall, IPSec VPN
* Hands-on, self-driven, analytical and results-oriented
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
* Travelling is required
