HDPM is now looking to recruit professionals with a proven track record of being successful in a dynamic modern business environment for the following role:

ASSISTANT MANAGER - INDIVIDUAL LIFE UNDERWRITERS
(Selangor - Cyberjaya)

Responsibilities:

* To supervise, train and provide guidance to staff
* To ensure smooth running of operational processes of both New Business Data Entry and Underwriting
* To underwrite Single Premium policies with no Sum Insured and Regular Premium policies
* To conduct pre-processing check to identify discrepancies
* Underwriter business in accordance with the company’s / reinsure’s guidelines
* Ensuring proper follow-up on outstanding documents
* To conduct pre-issue validation to ensure that all information pertinent to contract issuance is in order
* Issuance of contract
* Check to determine if refund is required
* Prompt reply to all enquiries via emails
* To be able to provide administrative support, e.g. letter preparation
* To liaise with Business Partners on any work related issues.
* Compliance with existing HSBC standard procedures, internal control and regulatory requirement and maintain audit recommendations.
* Up to sign off underwriting authority limit given by business area
* Cases above the underwriter’s authority will have to be referred to OMD-NB’s senior underwriter for approval
* 2 - 3 years experience with life insurance processing operations
* 2 - 3 years in managerial position will be an added advantage
* Knowledge of basic PC software applications such as MS Word, Excel
* Effective verbal and written communication in English
* Effective verbal and written communication in Mandarin
* Strong organizational skills and good problem solving ability
* Able to work 11 am - 8pm (TWN) or 9am - 6pm (SGH)

Requirements:

* Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Others or equivalent.
* Required skill(s): Life Underwriting, pre-processing check, Issuance of contract.
* Preferred skill(s): life insurance processing, managerial experience, pre-issue validation.
* At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
* Applicants should be Malaysian citizens or hold relevant residence status.
* Preferably Managers specializing in Bio Medical/Biology, Actuarial Science/Statistics or equivalent. Job role in Taiwan/Singapore Insurance department.
* Full-Time positions available.
Flexibility to work non-standard work hours in line with customer requirements.
